LEADERS Huddersfield Giants are continuing to dominate the Junior Academy First Division.

Coach Chris Plume's side made it five wins out of five with a well-deserved 34-14 victory over Featherstone at Syngenta.

Their visitors made a solid start to the contest and were 8-6 ahead after 20 minutes.

But when the Giants finally got into their stride it was clear there was only going to be one winner, with Paul Mennell and Luke George leading the way with two tries each.

And it was Mennell who opened the scoring after three minutes as he spotted a gap in the Rovers defence and dummied his way over for a try which was converted by Danny Garside.

Yet Featherstone's response was spot-on and by the ninth minute they had taken an 8-6 lead with a Danny Kirmond try and two Danny Stanley goals.

Their slender advantage remained until midway through half when the home side began to take total control.

Mennell again set the ball rolling with his second try, again goaled by Garside.

Peter Robinson then followed up a Chris Clarke break five minutes later to extend the lead before George collected Lee Simpson's pass to score his first on the stroke of half-time.

The pressure continued after the break, with Clarke and George scoring further tries before Rovers grabbed a late consolation.
