Huddersfield Giants Under 19s produced an eight-try haul as they comfortably beat the Newcastle Thunder 46-10 at DRAM.

Jack Richardson and Fletcher Davies both scored twice while Izaac Farrell, Jack Etchells, Connor Hampson, Jake Wardle and Reece Boxhall-Hunt also got on the scoresheet.

Newcastle did manage to score either side of half-time with Adam Bielby and Jake Woods crossing.

It is now back-to-back wins for the Giants Under 19s, who have managed to score over 40 points in both of their last two outings.

However, a slow start from the Giants allowed Newcastle to open the scoring through Bielby, but Huddersfield soon replied when Richardson found his way over from close range. Davies scored in similar fashion not long after.

Late in the first half Farrell jinked his way around two defenders and under the sticks to give the Giants a 16-point lead at the interval.

The Giants continued where they’d left off when Etchells used his strength to get over the line.

Davies’ second and Hampson’s tries soon followed with both breaking straight through the Thunder defence.

Newcastle did respond when Woods found a gap and took advantage, but there was no sign of a serious comeback.

Huddersfield’s dominance in the forwards continued as Matthew English found an offload for an onrushing Wardle, who stepped Niall Sidney and went in under the posts.

The one-sided affair was capped off when Boxhall-Hunt strolled through untouched. Farrell’s conversion missed, his only unsuccessful attempt of the match.
