TOP Giants youngster Thomas Hemingway could be one step away from playing for England Junior Academy in Australia later this season.
The multi-talented goalkicking half-back is expected to be named in the Yorkshire Junior Academy starting line-up against Lancashire at Odsal on Saturday (3.40).
Hemingway, pictured, helped the white rose county to success in the first encounter between the arch rivals at Salford last month.
And a top display in this weekend's return should be enough to book him a spot in the England squad and follow in the big footsteps of Eorl Crabtree.
"Who plays well on Saturday could determine who flies out to Australia in two months' time," said Giants football manager Stuart Sheard.
"We've got very high hopes that Thomas will be included because he played a big part in helping Yorkshire gain victory over Lancashire in the first Origin clash.
"These are effectively England trial games, and on the evidence so far we all believe at Huddersfield that he deserves to be picked.
"We are confident he'll have another big game this weekend."
The match is being played as a curtain-raiser to the massive Super League clash between Braford Bulls and Leeds Rhinos.
That match, which is televised live on Sky TV, is expected to attract a crowd of over 20,000, with Hemingway and his Yorkshire side obviously guaranteed all the support.
