IN-FORM Danny Brough has vowed to put his England call-up to the back of his mind and focus all his attention on making the Giants an even stronger Super League force.

The inspirational 29-year-old goal-kicking half-back and clubmates Eorl Crabtree and Leroy Cudjoe have been named in England’s 32-man Elite squad for 2012.

All three will be hoping to feature for their country in the two-Test Origin series against the Exiles this summer.

An ankle injury forced Brough to miss last June’s one-off Test when he was a nailed-on starter, while he then suffered a knee injury which ruled him out of last autumn’s Four Nations series.

He’s obviously hoping there’s no cruel repeat this time around.

But with so many big Giants top-flight fixtures on the horizon, Brough is refusing to think about playing for England at this stage.

“It’s always good to be selected for your country. It’s a sign of the way you’re playing,” said Brough, who will play at former club Wakefield for the first time on Sunday.

“But England don’t play until June, and a lot can change between now and then.

“For that reason, all my focus is on the Giants and making sure I can help us build on what’s been a positive start to the season.

“I’m also pretty happy with my own form at the moment, and I also want to keep building on that.

“Yes, I obviously hope to feature for England later in the year, particularly after missing out last season.

“But that’s all behind me now, and I know if I do make the Test side it’s because I’ve been doing a good job for the Giants and, right now, that’s my sole focus.”
