EORL CRABTREE will be fit to play in his testimonial clash against Hull KR at the Galpharm next month.

The 28-year-old England prop, left, has been given the all-clear to resume full training with the Giants’ Super League squad on Monday following surgery on his damaged left elbow.

That means he will have almost two weeks to get up to speed for the home game against the Robins on Sunday, January 16, which will celebrate his 10 years with his hometown club.

And the front rower admits he’s already counting down the days to what he believes will be an emotional occasion.

“Things are now looking really good for that game, in terms of my fitness,” said Crabtree.

“For a time, there had been a bit of doubt cast over my chances of making it, because the damage to my elbow was far worse than first thought and more surgery was required.

“But I’ve now been told I’m in good enough shape to resume full pre-season training with the squad and that the elbow should be good to go.

“That’s obviously a massive relief, and I can’t wait to play in a game which I know is going to be so special.”
