GIANTS Super League squad men Stephen Jones and Jason Southwell are to join Featherstone Rovers on a month's loan.
The pair will leave for the Lionheart Stadium on Monday, with a view to playing in the club's National League I fixtures.
That's obviously a step up from Division I of the Senior Academy, with Giants officials believing the spell away will prove vital in the two players' development.
"It had always been our intention to let Stephen go on loan to learn as much as he can playing at a good first-team level," explained Giants football manager Stuart Sheard.
"Featherstone were keen to strengthen their National League I squad, and we were keen for Stephen and Jason to gain experience at this level, so the agreement seems ideal all the way round.
"Hopefully, they will feature in Featherstone's next four first-team games and rejoin us having gained much from the experience."
While the two Super League squad men prepare to join Rovers, teammate Thomas Hemingway is this week focusing on leading the Giants in their opening Junior Academy grading game against Leeds Rhinos at Laund Hill tomorrow.
The match kicks-off at 11.00, because Leeds' first team are in Challenge Cup fourth-round action against Warrington Wolves at Headingley in the afternoon (2.35).
The 18-year-old Hemingway will partner Paul Mennell at half-back, after the duo had worked together as the Giants came desperately close to qualifying for the Championship at Senior Academy level earlier this month.
But there will also be several new faces in the Huddersfield line-up.
Those include winger Ashley Johnson from Greenhead College and second-rower Graham Dobbs, a former Shaw Cross junior who played for Halifax Academy last season.
There's also an unfamiliar look to the bench, with prop Simon Perry (Greenhead), half-back Adam Brooke (Mirfield) and back-rower Chris Donland (Drighlington) all relatively new arrivals.
