ENGLAND Coach Steve McNamara has axed Huddersfield Giants stand-off Kevin Brown, but will give debuts to Huddersfield duo Leroy Cudjoe and Shaun Lunt, along with Warrington prop or back-row forward Ben Harrison for Sunday’s must-win Four Nations clash with Australia at AAMI Park.

Luke Robinson gets his first full cap at scrum-half while his Huddersfield team-mate Eorl Crabtree replaces another Giants prop Darrell Griffin on the bench.

Full-back Gareth Widdop is also dropped and will be denied the chance to play for his country on his home ground.

With centre Michael Shenton ruled out through injury, there are four changes in personnel to the side that lost 24-10 to New Zealand while McNamara makes three other positional switches.

Sam Tomkins moves from scrum half to full-back, Sean O’Loughlin goes from loose forward to stand-off and Sam Burgess moves from the second row to prop.

Cudjoe is a straight replacement for Shenton while Lunt and Harrison will win their first caps from the bench.

Lunt, a hooker who finished the season playing for his club in the second row, said: "It’s unreal to think that two, two-and-a-half years ago I was at Workington Town.

"Now I am here on the verge of making my England debut, it’s crazy."

Harrison, who switched his allegiance from Ireland a year ago, said: "I am still a little overwhelmed by it all. But I am looking forward to it and I am excited about being out there singing the national anthem.

"It’s a dream come true. I grew up watching rugby and my dad taking me to the Tri Nations. Now to be out there on the pitch will be just brilliant."

The wholesale changes mean that Harlequins centre Tony Clubb and Warrington prop Garreth Carvell are the only members of the 24-man squad yet to feature on tour.
