STAR Giant Stanley Gene is warning his teammates not to fall into their traditional Challenge Cup trap.
The unbeaten Super League side face National League I opponents Doncaster Dragons at the McAlpine tomorrow (3.00) with a place in the quarter-finals at stake.
Huddersfield booked their fifth-round spot with victory over French side Pia, despite producing a shaky first-half show.
And in the previous two seasons they were on the end of Cup shocks at Doncaster and Hunslet.
But the in-form Gene is confident lessons will have been learned.
"The key tomorrow is to remain on our toes and play at our level rather than theirs," he said.
"We can't fall into our traditional trap of lowering our standards and ending up having a rough ride as a result.
"We've been hurt before by going down that track, and I don't want it to happen again.
"We are a genuinely good side and we have to play like that tomorrow. The stakes are too high for us not to."
The quarter-final draw will be live on Sunday Grandstand at 5.20.
