BIG Eorl Crabtree knows the Giants will travel to Bradford Bulls on Sunday (3.00) with their confidence high.
Huddersfield may have opened their Super League XII campaign with an 18-10 home defeat to champions St Helens last weekend.
But there was enough in that display to suggest the Giants will be a genuine 2007 force.
And the England prop believes the time is right to secure a first victory in 19 Super League attempts against the Bulls.
"The fact we've never beaten Bradford is always at the back of our minds," said the 24-year-old front-rower.
"But it's certainly not been a big part of our preparation for Sunday.
"Our main focus has been to build on what we did right against Saints, and there were plenty of positives.
"Obviously, a key is to get our start sorted.
"We knew Saints would come strong at us early on, just like Leeds did in the pre-season game the week before.
"But we didn't handle it well, due to a combination of factors.
"We know exactly what they were, and we're determined to have put that right against Bradford.
"If we have, then we know we will be in with a very good shout."
In last Sunday's game against the Super League champions, the Giants found themselves 14-2 behind after 19 minutes, before going on to dominate the rest of the contest.
And Crabtree believes that's a vitally important factor.
"To fight back against a champion side like Saints the way we did proves we can match it with the best sides," he added.
"The way we played in the final hour has given us bags of confidence.
"We did feel during pre-season that we are now a far better team than the one that was well beaten by St Helens in the Challenge Cup final last year.
"We definitely proved that with the way we performed last Sunday."
