ANDY RALEIGH will remain on the sidelines for longer than first anticipated.

Giants medical staff had initially hoped the back-rower’s knee injury would keep him out for two weeks.

But scans have revealed he suffered more ligament damage than first feared and he will be out for a total of six weeks.

Raleigh is the second Huddersfield star to have picked up a big injury during the 30-8 Super League victory at Hull KR on Easter Monday.

New top Australian signing Liam Fulton was last week ruled out for 10 weeks with a knee ligament.

And coach Nathan Brown admits the loss of two influential players is a major blow.

"To lose Liam after such a short time with us was disappointing, and to now lose Andy makes it even more disappointing," he said.

"What’s a particular blow for Andy is that he’s picked up this injury just a couple of weeks after recovering from another one (a finger dislocation).

"He’d returned from that in good form and was showing some nice rhythm."
