HUDDERSFIELD Giants are already expecting a bumper crowd for their Super League XV opener against Bradford Bulls at the Galpharm on February 5.

Club officials report advance tickets have been highly promising, with a five-figure crowd on the cards.

Giants interest is guaranteed to be high on the back of the anticipated full debuts of international back-row forwards David Fa’alogo and Lee Gilmour, as well as Scott Grix and Graeme Horne.

It’s a contest that will also capture the imagination of Bulls fans, with the likes of top-quality Australian scrum half Matt Orford poised to play in a Super League game for the first time.

Giants officials remain confident they will at least match last year’s season-ticket figure of around 5,500 and that, coupled with the general interest surrounding the fixture throughout the

town and the new buzz at the Bulls, all points to a big attendance.

“We couldn’t have asked for a more exciting start to the engage Super League XV season than a home clash against the Bulls,” said Giants marketing chief James Brammer, pictured left.

“And it looks as if the supporters are already responding magnificently to what is an eagerly-anticipated fixture.

“Excitement is building ahead of the new season and I would encourage fans to pre-purchase their tickets not only to make savings on match day prices, but also to guarantee their seat for what I’m sure will be a fantastic attendance to start the new season.

“We were delighted by yet another increase in our average attendance last season, and we’re determined to see that trend continue in Super League XV.

“With the signings we have made and with the way things have been shaping up under head coach Nathan Brown, we’re confident of building on all fronts.

“And, judging by the initial interest in this game against Bradford, that’s something the fans are taking on board.”

Tickets went on sale for the Giants’ first top-flight fixture of 2010 last week, with a healthy number having been snapped up straight away and selling steadily all the time.
