GIANTS fans were out in force at Cardiff as part of engage Super League's successful Millennium Magic weekend.

Over 1,000 Huddersfield fans made the trip to the Welsh capital, and were rewarded with a convincing 36-12 triumph over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

Supporters from all 12 top-flight teams met up in the pubs and clubs in Cardiff to help create a carnival atmosphere.

And, as these pictures taken by club photographer John Rushworth show, the claret and gold army had the time of their lives!

Many Giants fans are now already planning to make a return next year, with the Rugby Football League almost certain to repeat the exercise.

More than 58,000 supporters attended the six-game weekend (with 32,384 turning out on the Saturday and 26,447 on the Sunday).

That was 15,000 more than attended the first Super League Grand Final, which RFL Executive Chairman Richad Lewis believes shows it was a success.

"This is an excellent start and I'm sure it will grow in stature," said Lewis.

"We're all delighted."
