BUSY Huddersfield Giants officials are looking to cash-in on the success of Super League IX.

Huddersfield head for the winter break on the back of one of the club's most successful seasons for 50 years.

But the end of the Super League action doesn't mean an end to the commercial activity.

In fact, Giants commercial manager Stan Sharp is now looking to profit from the on-the-field success.

"The mood right now is extremely buoyant and we're determined to make the most of this feelgood factor," said Sharp.

"The initial demand on the sponsorship front for next season has been excellent, and everything is looking positive.

"Just two weeks ago, Microworld signed a new two-year deal with us and now Thatchers Furnishings have followed suit in a similar sort of agreement.

"The fact both companies have signed up so readily for two more years shows that we must be doing something right somewhere.

"And with several other major sponsors ready to pledge their support, Super League X promises to be even more of a commercial success than the season just finished.

"It is obvious that those sponsors who come on board thoroughly enjoy sharing in the Giants' Super League experience.

"And the more that join us, the better."

Sharp is already busy selling player sponsorships for next year and progress is good towards filling every available slot.

The initial demand has also been promising for match sponsorships and ball sponsorships.

But Sharp is still on the look-out for new backers.

"While we're delighted with the initial demand, we'll never have more than enough sponsors," he added.

"In modern-day sport, sponsorship deals are vitally important, and the more backers we have, the greater the chance if continuing our rise up the Super League ladder."
