EXCITED Giants officials are confident their club will put on a spectacular show, both on and off the field, this weekend.

Plans are already in place to make sure Sunday's opening Super League XI clash against Warrington Wolves (3.00) goes with a bang.

Hopes are high that supporters will come out in force following the Giants' highly encouraging performance at Leeds on Sunday when they held the Rhinos to 20-12.

And club officials are promising that those fans who visit the Galpharm this weekend will be in for a treat.

"A lot of work has gone in to making Sunday a very special occasion," said Giants marketing officer Jonathan Wilkinson, who is pictured right.

"We earned a lot of praise for our pre-match programme last year, but the aim is obviously to do even better.

"I'm sure all those who turn up on Sunday will see that.

"Our top priority is to provide a great day's entertainment for all the family, and we're sure our link-up with the Eureka Children's Museum will guarantee that.

"The players proved with Sunday's display at Leeds that they will have a lot to offer on the field this season.

"The aim of those who work behind the scenes is to ensure we can match their efforts off the field.

"We're very hopeful of attracting a big crowd this weekend, particularly with all primary school children getting in free and our `Friend for a Fiver' scheme.

"Everything is in place to make Sunday a special day."

Wilkinson is confident that as soon as fans arrive at the Galpharm they will see a big difference in terms of the pre-match attractions on offer.

"I've no doubt everyone will be pleasantly surprised when they get here," he predicted.
