TOM HEMINGWAY is back in the Giants’ fold!

The 22-year-old goalkicking half-back, right, returned to action in the superb 16-12 Reserve Team Championship triumph at Hull earlier in the week after recovering from shoulder surgery and then a broken thumb.

And he will now be looking to push on and force himself into head coach Nathan Brown’s senior Super League set-up.

Hemingway’s comeback was the highlighted of a spirited display in which he marked the occasion with a try, as did Adam Walker and Larne Patrick, while Leroy Cudjoe landed two goals.

Not surprisingly, it was a win that delighted Reserve chief Paul Cook.

“After coming away from Wigan the week before with a poor result, this was a fantastic turnaround,” said Cook.

“I couldn’t be happier with the way everyone performed.”

Cudjoe made a big impact for the team, stealing the ball in a one-on-one challenge which gave the Giants a play-the-ball and resulted in Adam Walker scoring a late try to seal the outcome.

But even though this was a win built on a strong team performance, prop Michael Korkidas deserves special mention for being the star player by far.

Huddersfield again head back to the east coast tomorrow, when Darren Fleary’s Academy side face Hull FC at Hull Ionians at 12.30.
