GLENN HOLDSWORTH hit the try trail for the second match running as the Giants Under 18s thumped Leigh 62-8 at Laund Hill.

Having notched a hat trick in the 58-14 win over Keighley, he went one better as the young Lancastrians were put to the sword in the Junior Academy First Division meeting.

Three of them came in a devastating seven-minute spell, starting on the quarter-hour mark with a close-range effort.

Two minutes after that, Holdsworth raced over from 60 metres, and then he finished off from 20 out.

That put Huddersfield 34-0 up after earlier tries by Jack Watson (created by Holdsworth), Symon Sutherland and Andy Tillotson.

Five of the six were converted by Thomas Hemingway, who finished with nine goals and a try, the last of the game from 30 metres out after 69 minutes.

Holdsworth got his fourth in the 54th minute and the other Huddersfield scorers were Peter Robinson, who got two, and Luke George.

Leigh's consolation efforts came from Michael Wilkinson and Ryan Peters.

Huddersfield, who head for Featherstone on Sunday (12.45), remain second in league table, two points behind Warrington, who won 42-16 at London, and three ahead of Salford.
