LEROY CUDJOE could tonight pick up a major Super League award.

The 20-year-old Giants full-back is in the running to be named Young Player of the Year at the Man of Steel dinner.

He has been nominated along with Wigan’s Joel Tomkins and Castleford’s Joe Westerman, and is aware they will provide tough competition.

But rising star Cudjoe knows being nominated is a major achievement in itself.

“It’s a fantastic honour and I was really proud when I found out,” said the former Newsome Panthers junior. “There are some great young players in the game, so to be singled out like this is a brilliant feeling.”
