The RFL have announced two of the greatest players in Rugby League history are to be inducted into the sport’s most exclusive club, the Rugby League Hall of Fame.
The identity of the new inductees will be announced at the John Smith’s Stadium in Huddersfield on Friday October 17 at a special Hall of Fame dinner hosted by Rugby League Cares when the legends will take their place alongside the 21 existing members of the Rugby League pantheon.
The new inductees will be joined at the dinner by many of the current Hall of Fame inductees as a host of other all-time Rugby League greats.
Last year saw Lewis Jones, Martin Offiah MBE, Garry Schofield OBE and Mick Sullivan inducted in to the Hall of Fame and RFL Chief Executive Nigel Wood believes now is the perfect time to celebrate the exploits and talents of Rugby League’s ultimate heroes.
“There are 21 outstanding players already in the Hall of Fame and it is right and proper that another two worthy Rugby League players will be joining the illustrious club at such an exciting time for the sport,” he said.
“As Rugby League prepares to embrace an exciting new league structure, it is especially important to acknowledge our heritage and celebrate the achievements of the outstanding individuals who have enriched the sport down the years.
“The Hall of Fame dinner is always a great occasion to do that and we are grateful to Rugby League Cares for their continued support of this important initiative.”
Rugby League Cares Chairman Terry Flanagan said: “We are delighted to once again work alongside the RFL to recognise the outstanding achievements of the greatest players to every grace the game.
“Celebrating our sport’s former players, their many achievements and the valuable contribution they make to our great game is one of RL Cares’ most important objectives.

The two new inductees were identified by a specially-convened selection panel comprised of experienced journalists, broadcasters and administrators.
Tickets for the Rugby League Hall of Fame in association with Rugby League Cares at Huddersfield on Friday October 17 cost from just £40 (£35 for RL Cares members); VIP tickets cost £75 and £750 for a table of 10.
The dinner will feature a Rugby League heritage display, speeches about the history of the Hall of Fame as well as a three-course dinner and entertainment throughout the evening.
