HUDDERSFIELD Giants’ Under 18s threw away a healthy half-time lead to lose 32-30 at Warrington Wolves in the Valvoline Academy.

The visitors looked to be in command as they led 24-12 at the halfway stage.

But it proved to be a tale of woe after the break as the Wolves hit back to secure the narrowest of victories.

Tryscorers for the Giants were full-back Elliott Gorman, winger Darren Lamb, stand-off Sam Candlin, substitute Adam Jepson and scrum-half Ben Whitehead, who also landed five goals.

The Under 18s will now be hoping to bounce straight back when they face Bradford Bulls at Odsal tomorrow (1.30).

The club’s Under 20s are also in action at Odsal when they tackle the Bulls in a Valvoline Cup clash (12.45) which is being staged as a curtain-raiser to the Super League XVI derby fixture between the two sides.
