Huddersfield Giants chief Paul Anderson has heaped praise on the work being done by Under 19s coach Chris Thorman as his side closes in on a top-four Academy finish.

Thorman’s youngsters are seeking a ninth successive victory against Sheffield Eagles at the YMCA tomorrow (2.00).

Huddersfield should be far too strong for an Eagles side who have lost all 21 of their Academy games so far.

And Anderson is thoroughly enjoying watching the club’s rising stars making such a big impact at Under 19s level.

“Most of the attention at the Giants is obviously focused on how well we’re doing at Super League level,” said the Huddersfield head coach.

“But I’m also delighted with the work that’s being done by Chris with the 19s. He’s doing a tremendous job.

“There are a lot of very good things being done at this club in the background, and what the 19s are doing is a shining example.

“We’re all confident the boys will extend their winning run tomorrow.”
