Huddersfield Giants chief Paul Anderson believes his club’s early Super League XX break could be a big positive.

With the three World Club Challenge fixtures getting under way later this week, Super League has the weekend off.

It means Huddersfield won’t return to action until their trip to Leeds Rhinos on Thursday week.

That means it’ll be 13 days since their narrow 24-16 defeat at Wigan Warriors the last time out.

But Anderson thinks that could work in his side’s favour.

“Although there was a vast improvement between our performance on the opening day against Hull and the one against Wigan five days later, I think the break could do us good,” said Anderson.

“It gives us an opportunity to do some more work together, which is something we need.

“We can continue to work on our fluency and execution to make sure we’re even better when we face Leeds.

“If we do show further improvement then we know we’ll give ourselves a good chance.”
