HUDDERSFIELD Giants have re-set their sights on making the Galpharm Stadium a Super League fortress.

Coach Nathan Brown’s men were beaten 20-6 by champions Wigan Warriors in their last home fixture 13 days ago.

They have the chance to get back on a winning Galpharm track against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on Sunday.

And although captain Kevin Brown is preparing to sit out this weekend’s clash in order to get over a couple of slight niggles, he’s made it clear the Giants are determined to pull out all the stops to make sure there’s no repeat of the events of two weeks ago again this season.

“The defeat at Wigan obviously hit us hard, and for a number of reasons,” said Brown, who led his team to an impressive 38-16 bounce-back triumph at Hull KR last Saturday but will temporarily hand over the captaincy role to Luke Robinson and David Faiumu.

“One thing that really disappointed us was that we were beaten at home, which is something we never like to happen.

“We pride ourselves on the Galpharm being a tough place to come and play. We don’t want the opposition to look forward to coming and playing here.

“Hopefully, we’ll make it difficult for Wakefield this weekend.”

But Brown knows a win against the Wildcats can’t be taken for granted.

“Wakefield have done well away from home this year. Everyone wrote them off at the start of the season, but they’ve already won at Hull and Catalan, which is pretty impressive,” added the Giants’ inspirational half-back.

“We know they’ll come here with absolutely nothing to lose.”
