NATHAN BROWN has ordered his players to focus 100% on Swinton Lions and not think about the top-of-the-table Super League clash at Catalan Dragons tomorrow week.

The in-form Giants host Co-operative Championship club Swinton at the Galpharm on Sunday (3.00) with a place in the quarter-finals of the Carnegie Challenge Cup at stake.

It’s a match Huddersfield are expected to win with the minimum of fuss.

But Brown is keen to stress that doesn’t mean they’ve already got one eye on next week’s trip to the South of France, when they will bid to remain two points clear at the Super summit.

The Galpharm chief knows that’s asking for trouble.

“As far as we’re concerned, Sunday’s game is our most important of the season,” said Brown.

“We want to go as far as we can in the Challenge Cup and our next hurdle is Swinton.

“That’s what we’re all focusing on, because we know we can’t afford to leave anything to chance.

“We may have a few players sitting Sunday out (Kevin Brown, Eorl Crabtree, Jermaine McGillvary and Larne Patrick), but that’s something we’ve been doing throughout this season in Super League, so nothing has changed there.

“We’ve obviously got Catalan away the game after, and we know that’s going to be very tough, but we’ll worry about them after Swinton.

“This week we’ve been preparing as well as well as we can for Sunday to make sure we’re in the quarter-finals.

“We know how massive the ultimate prize will be.”
