Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson has spoken of his disappointment at suffering another Super League defeat.
It proved to be a heartbreaking 18-13 home defeat for his young side against Wigan Warriors.
Even though his Giants were lacking the services of seven of his senior players, they were just three minutes away from claiming a memorable triumph.
And Anderson admitted that his side deserved to secure their first league win of the season following last week’s defeat St Helens
Anderson said: “I suppose one of the major emotions I am feeling is one of pride with the way the side performed on the night.
“The senior players out there all led by example and the younger players responded and were a credit to the club.
“They have shown that the future of the Giants is bright.
“But my over-riding emotion is one of disappointment because I thought we deserved to win.
“That in itself is a credit to all 17 players involved and who wore the shirt with pride.”
