Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson is hoping his players find it too painful to watch tomorrow’s Super League Grand Final.

Warrington face Wigan at Old Trafford in what promises to be a memorable last game of the 2013 domestic campaign.

The Wolves earned the right to reach the Theatre of Dreams after their 30-22 home play-off semi-final triumph over Anderson’s Super League minor champions.

As a result, Anderson has admitted he won’t be able to watch the 2013 Grand Final, because it will bring back some painful memories of the Warrington defeat.

And he hopes it’ll be a similar story for every member of the Huddersfield squad.

“The last thing I feel like doing is sitting down and watching this one,” said Anderson.

“Even a week after our defeat at Warrington I’m like a bear with a sore head, and watching tomorrow’s final would only make it worse!

“Although it was great to lift the League Leaders’ Shield, our ultimate aim was to reach the Grand Final, and we fell one game short of doing that.

“All I’d be thinking if I was watched the game tomorrow night was that ‘we should have been there’.

“It would be too painful for me, and hopefully it’ll be too painful for the players as well.

“That defeat at Warrington hurt everyone, and I want the players to feel that hurt until the start of next season.

“That should be one of our main sources of motivation for next year, because none of us will want to go through this again.”
