Paul Anderson is demanding the Giants maintain the momentum they’ve built up in Portugal when they return to England this weekend.

Huddersfield’s Super League squad head back home tomorrow after what’s proving a profitable week of warm-weather training at the Brown’s Sports Complex.

Giants chief Anderson is delighted he’s been able to put his players through their paces twice a day during their stay.

And the recently-crowned Super League Coach of the Year has made it clear the increasingly growing training standards must continue to improve in the build-up to the Super League opener at Wigan on Friday, February 7.

“It’s proving a good week, and continuing to be very beneficial to everyone,” said Anderson.

“We’ve been able to hold two training sessions a day at a top-quality facility, which is exactly what we’d hoped.

“As a result, the quality of the sessions has been high.

“But the challenge for everyone is to make sure we maintain this momentum as soon as we return home.

“We always felt this week would be the ideal week to come out here, because we knew this would be the first time everyone would be together as a group after the World Cup. Hopefully, that plan will reap its reward.”
