Huddersfield head coach Paul Anderson is confident the Giants are heading in the right direction.

Huddersfield may have suffered a third straight defeat of the new Super League XX season in going down to a late heartbreaking 28-24 loss at Leeds Rhinos last night, but after recovering from an 18-0 deficit after 25 minutes to nudge 4-22 ahead with 11 minutes remaining before finally losing the contest to a late Paul Aiton score, Anderson feels that the tide could be about to turn.

“We are improving all the time and heading in the right direction,” said Anderson.

“And our message is to stick by us, because we know that if we keep believing in ourselves and show the sort of character we demonstrated last night at Headingley then everything will start to go for us.

“Obviously, we didn’t get a win, and we’re judged on winning.

“However, we’re also judged on improvement, and we again took big strides forward in the game last night.

“Our effort, resilience and patience was so much better then in our first two games, and that’s such a positive to work on.”
