Dale Ferguson can’t wait to face Hull FC at the KC Stadium on Sunday (3.00) and prove how committed he remains to the Huddersfield Giants cause.

The 25-year-old back-row forward has this week been confirmed as a Bradford Bulls player for 2014 after signing a two-year Super League contract.

But with Huddersfield battling for silverware on three fronts – they’ll claim the League Leaders Shield if they win their remaining seven games in the regular Super League XVIII season and are also setting their sights on Super League Grand Final and Challenge Cup final glory – Ferguson has made it clear he’s not thinking at all about next year .

And he knows the best way of proving that is to maintain his rich vein of form for the Giants, starting with another big individual performance against the Black and Whites this weekend.

"I’m really looking forward to Sunday," said the former Wakefield man.

"There’s a brilliant buzz around the club at the moment and we’re relishing every challenge that’s put in front of us.

"People obviously keep asking me about the Bradford move, but I’m honestly not giving that a thought at all. Why would I when things are going so well at the Giants?

"Having said that, I have received a lot of positive messages from the Huddersfield fans saying they’re disappointed to hear I’ll be leaving and wishing me the best of luck for the future.

"That’s something I’ve really appreciated, and that’s made me even more determined to finish at the Giants on a high and do what I can for the club to try and help us win some silverware.

"With the way things are going, there’s no reason at all why that won’t be the case.

"As a group, we couldn’t be more tight-knit and Baloo (head coach Paul Anderson) has instilled an incredible amount of self-belief in us.

"I can’t wait to get out on the field and show everyone how much I want to win for the Giants between now and the end of the season.

"But that’s a view shared by everyone at the club. We know if we keep on working hard, focus on every game and keeping on chalking up the wins, then we’re capable of doing anything.

"That’s such an exciting prospect!"

Ferguson knows, however, that his side needs to show a big improvement at Hull – even if they did rattle up a 60-16 home win against Catalan Dragons to claim top-flight triumph No15 a week ago to close the gap to leaders Wigan Warriors to a single point.

"It really was strange to walk off the field after scoring 60 points against the fifth-placed side and feel disappointed!" he added.

"But that’s exactly the way it was.

"We know we could have done so much better in that game, and we’ve taken steps to make sure there’s no repeat at Hull this weekend.

"Even though they’ve struggled to get some consistency in their performances, we know that on their day they’ll pose a massive threat.

"They’ve got world-class players throughout their side and if we allow them to play they’ll cause us a lot of trouble. We can’t allow that to happen."

Ferguson will be part of a 19-man squad that is expected to show one key change to the one which beat the Dragons last Friday, with injured prop Craig Kopczak (bicep) replaced by new arrival Kyle Wood.

There could also be a move in the backline, with centre Joe Wardle hoping to return after resting a slight knee knock against Catalan.
