DALE FERGUSON is ready to go head-to-head with Huddersfield Giants teammates Greg Eden and Michael Lawrence on the international stage.

Full-back Eden and utility man Lawrence were confirmed in the England Knights' final 19-man squad for this autumn's Alitalia series against Scotland and Ireland earlier in the week.

And now back-row forward Ferguson has been named in Scotland's 19-man squad.

Scotland host the Knights in Edinburgh on Sunday, October 28 and that means the talented Huddersfield trio will be locking horns on the field of play and Ferguson can't wait.

"It should be great!" he said.

"I've been lucky enough to play for Scotland before, and I absolutely loved it. All being well, it'll be the same again this time around.

"And the England Knights game will obviously have some added spice for me, because it'll be the chance to come up against Bruno (Lawrence) and Greg. That should be a great experience, too."

As well as Ferguson, prop Adam Walker, who left the Giants at the end of this season, and former Huddersfield front-rower Paul Jackson, a new signing for Whitehaven for next season, are in the Scotland squad.

The Scots are also boosted by the return of Catalan Dragons' former Hull KR hooker Ben Fisher, who will hang up his boots after the tournament and join the coaching staff of London Broncos.

Ferguson and Jackson are also back in action for the Scots, with coach Dave Rotheram delighted to be able to call on their services.

"We've got a mixture of experience and youth in the squad but they are all so passionate about representing Scotland," said Rotheram.

"We've got Ferguson, Fisher and Mitchell Stringer, who all missed last year, and Paul Jackson is back too, plus three young new boys who are making their mark on Super League in the Walker twins, Adam and (Castleford's Jonathan) and Liam Hood.

"They are fabulous acquisitions for us. They can grow their international careers in our squad."

This autumn's internationals form the major part of Scotland's build-up to the 2013 World Cup.

And Rotheram, who is currently standing in for head coach Steve McCormack, added: "The ultimate aim is Friday, 15th November 2013, the World Cup quarter-final at Headingley.

"That is the dream and we are on that cycle now.

"We have to lay the foundations now and we have talked about it.

"We need to lay a marker down in this tournament. The players want to win the European Cup.

"Scotland have never won a senior tournament and if we play to our potential then we know we can win this."
