Huddersfield Giants supporters groups are calling on the travelling fans to paint Wigan’s away stand claret and gold on Thursday night.

Led by the unofficial fanzine Fee Fi Fo Fum, Giants fans are being encouraged to wear their claret and gold clothing from shirts and scarves to flags and banners.

Representatives from the fanzine will also be handing out claret and gold balloons before the game at the DW Stadium.

Big G and the Giants band will also be in attendance to add to what promises to be a fantastic atmosphere.

Thanks to sponsors Bond It, there is free coach travel to the game, with the advice to move quickly to guarantee a seat as the demand has been high.

And with a bumper Giants turn-out guaranteed as Huddersfield look to reach their first Super League Grand Final, Giants marketing manager James Brammer knows it could be a special night.

“We are very keen to back such brilliant initiatives from our fan groups and this will help add to what promises to be a fantastic atmosphere in the North Stand at the DW Stadium,” he said.

“We are delighted with the uptake from Giants fans on the offer of free coach travel thanks to our main partners Bond It, and it looks like we’ll have a superb backing from the claret and gold faithful in the biggest game of the season.

“Like the majority of away games this season, the Giants band will be there to orchestrate another brilliant atmosphere and Big G will also be at the game to help spur on the crowd.

“Our away support has been exceptional all season and the playing and coaching staff have made it clear just how much that support helps them, so it would be brilliant if our supporters could create a sea of claret and gold at the DW Stadium.”
