Huddersfield Giants forward Larne Patrick joins Castleford Tigers on loan

Wales international heads for the Jungle with view to permanent move

Huddersfield Giants utility forward Larne Patrick has joined Castleford Tigers on loan until the end of the 2016 season.

The 27-year-old is out of contract at the end of the year and is expected then to link up permanently with the Tigers at the Mend a hose jungle.

Giants Managing Director Richard Thewlis commented: “Clearly this is a loss to us and many will be sad to see Larne leave us, but as we would have been unable to agree terms within our cap with him for a longer stay beyond this year we believe it in both parties’ best interests to make the move now.

“He has played over 100 games for us since we gave him his opportunity in Super League and he leaves with our very best wishes for his future.

“Hopefully from Larne’s perspective a fresh environment will re-vitalise him and get him back to his form of a few years back and for our part the freeing up of paid salary cap space will allow us to consider players who may become available.”
