In-form Larne Patrick is hoping to continue to be in the right place at the right time to help the Huddersfield Giants secure victory against Salford Red Devils at home on Saturday.

The explosive Wales World Cup forward came off the bench to score two tries in Huddersfield’s 26-22 Super League triumph at Hull KR last Thursday.

It was a performance which puts Patrick in pole position to cover in the back row for the injured Brett Ferres, who has been ruled out for two weeks with a quad injury picked up during the win over the Robins.

And Patrick is eager to maintain his good form against the Red Devils as the Giants look to make it 10 wins from their last 11 top-flight fixtures.

“I’ve been happy with my form over the past couple of months, and the game at Hull KR has given me even more confidence,” said Patrick.

“It was great to score the two tries and help us win, although it was down to Danny Brough that I was able to get over the line.

“It was a case of me being in the right place at the right time and, hopefully, I’ll get the chance to do that again this week.

“I played in the back row last Thursday when Brett went off injured and if I’m picked to play the same role against Salford I’d obviously be more than happy.”
