HUDDERSFIELD Giants have handed a full-time Super League contract to one of the game’s hottest properties.

Seventeen-year-old Jake Connor has today signed a two-year deal after an outstanding 2012 Under 18s Academy campaign.

The stand-off or centre has already joined the senior squad for training, with Giants Head of Youth Development Pete Riding confident Connor has all the qualities to go on to be a top Super League performer.

“Jake is a naturally talented rugby league player with outstanding skills,” he said.

“Whenever he has the ball things happen for him and others around him.

“I’m absolutely delighted the club have been able to move him into the full-time group on a permanent basis.

“Positionally, I’m not sure yet what his best position will be.

“But the big advantage he now has is that he can work on increasing his fitness, speed and strength, as well as receive more detailed specific coaching which will make him an exciting player to have around.”
