Huddersfield Giants’ winners are set to earn their places for Thursday’s away Super League mission at Wigan Warriors.

While head coach Paul Anderson’s injury problems have relented a little, he is not envisaging many changes from the squad that notched their second win of the season with last Friday’s 11-0 home success against table-toppers Warrington Wolves.

Pack pairing Eorl Crabtree and Larne Patrick missed the Wolves clash, through injury and illness respectively, but are set to be available for the trip to the DW Stadium on Thursday.

However, their return is in the balance.

“I cannot see why we would make too many changes,” said Anderson.

“Larne is over his illness and Eorl is back in training, but off the back of the last performance there really is not too much to change.

“In the win over Warrington we played with a lot of energy and plenty of enthusiasm – but most importantly we played for 80 minutes.

“It is that kind of consistency we need to produce for the rest of the season.”

The Giants remain bottom of the table, 12 points adrift of Warriors coach Shaun Wane’s third place team, but as for setting targets for the second half of the season Anderson said nothing had changed – Huddersfield intend to win every game as they look to build on the impressive win over Warrington.

“The main thing is that we played without errors,” said Anderson.

“I was pleased with our discipline in the game and our discipline in possession of the ball and the way we played defensively.”
