Bitterly-disappointed Giants coach Paul Anderson admits he has a lot of work to do to the right the wrongs of last night’s 18-12 home defeat to Salford.

After securing four Super League XX triumphs on the trot to move up to third in the top-flight table, Huddersfield took a massive backward step against the resurgent Red Devils.

But even though the visitors have now suffered just one defeat in their last six games, Anderson couldn’t hide his disappointment at his side’s failure to build on last week’s first win over Warrington Wolves since 2011.

“I though we made a very good team look very poor last night, and that team was ourselves,” said Anderson, whose side travels to Hull KR on Easter Monday.

“We paid a very high price for making some really simple and poor errors, and defensively that left us with an awful lot to do.

“The ball is the most prized possession out there on the field, but you wouldn’t have realised that with the way we played.

“It was clear from last ninth that we still have an awful lot of work to do when it comes to our attack.”

As well as working on improving the Giants play with ball in hand this weekend, Anderson will also be assessing the fitness of England back-row forward Brett Ferres after he was forced off with a leg injury early in the game.
