Former Wakefield hooker Kyle Wood knows another committed Huddersfield Giants effort will bring victory at Belle Vue in Sunday’s Super League XX clash.

The fit-again Wood has played a key role in helping Huddersfield recover from defeat in the opening three rounds to secure back-to-back top-flight triumphs over Widnes and Castleford.

And even though Wood admits the Giants are still failing to fire on full attacking cylinders, he knows his side are showing the right attitude to chalk up win No3 at Wakefield this weekend (3.00).

“We feel we’re starting to head in the right direction and are confident we can keep building on our last two wins,” said the 25-year-old, who signed for his second spell at the Giants from Wakefield towards the end of the 2013 season.

“We know there’s still room for a lot of improvement. Fixing up our attack is obviously the priority.

“But if we show the same level of commitment and put in the same effort as we did against Widnes and Cas, then we know we’ll put ourselves in a strong position to win again at Wakefield.

“I’ve still got some good mates over there, but nothing would give me greater pleasure than getting a big win against them by finally showing the attacking ability we know we possess.”
