RETURNING Grand Final hero Shaun Lunt is determined to make sure his Leeds Rhinos’ success rubs off on the Huddersfield Giants.

The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season at Headingley and was in the Leeds side that beat Warrington Wolves in October’s showpiece Super League finale at Old Trafford.

But even though Lunt loved his time as a Rhino, he’s delighted to be back at his parent club – especially as he knows he’s going to be first-choice hooker.

“It’s great to be back and to meet up with all the boys again,” said Lunt (pictured), who returned to training this week.

“And I’m obviously pleased to know I’m getting the No9 shirt back after having it in 2010.

“I lost it last year, which was a bit tough to take, so I’m hoping I can keep it this time.

“All being well, my experience last year will help me and the rest of the lads this season, so hopefully I can bring the success I achieved at the Rhinos back to the Giants.

“That’s my main aim next season.”

And he believes the initial signs suggest that can be achieved.

“All the boys are training really hard and I’m very impressed,” he added. “I always thought Paul Anderson would do well as a head coach and he has some good ideas.

“I had a nice break in Australia so my body is a bit sore after a week’s hard work, but I’ll be better after a few more weeks’ work.”
