Huddersfield Giants are ready to host an Academy double-header at Huddersfield YMCA on Sunday.

The Academy Under 16s get the Laund Hill action under way at noon with a clash against Cumbria Regional Academy before the Academy Under 19s take on the Midlands at 2pm.

It will be the 16s’ first clash of the campaign, but the second for the 19s, who go into this weekend’s contest having opened their season with an impressive 40-4 triumph at London Broncos.

With the Giants now boasting a full-time Under 19s squad, hopes were high that Academy coach Chris Thorman’s side would immediately get into their stride.

And that proved to be the case down south, with Huddersfield dominating from the start and having little trouble building on a 22-0 interval advantage.

Winger Isaac Noi led the tryscoring with two, while back-row forward Mikey Wood, centre Zak McComb, hooker Kruise Leeming and half-backs Jordan Brown and Izaac Farrell also crossed, with Farrell landing six goals.
