Huddersfield Giants have confirmed fit-again trio Eorl Crabtree, Joe Wardle and Kyle Wood in their 19-man squad for Sunday’s home clash against Hull KR.

Prop Crabtree is back in the frame after undergoing minor surgery and is set to play his first game since the opening-round defeat at St Helens, while centre Joe Wardle and hooker/half-back Kyle Wood are poised to make their season’s bow.

There’s also a place in the initial squad for full-back Jordan Tansey following his loan move from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.

These four replace injured prop Daniel Smith (foot) and youngsters Tyler Dickinson, Mikey Wood and Sam Wood from the 19-man squad on duty in last Friday’s narrow 20-16 defeat at champions Leeds Rhinos.

Interim Hull KR coach James Webster has been able to recall six senior players to his 19-man squad for Sunday’s trip to Huddersfield Giants, his first game in charge.

The new Rovers boss is boosted by the return of skipper Terry Campese as the Robins half-back aims to make his first appearance in nine months following a serious knee injury.

Campese is joined in this week’s squad by half-back partner Albert Kelly and hookers Shaun Lunt, the former Giants No9, and John Boudebza in a welcome boost to the side, while forwards James Green and ex-Huddersfield forward Graeme Horne are also drafted in following suspension and injury respectively.

Making way this week are Kieran Moran, Joe Wardill, Stephen Holker, Kieran Dixon, Liam Salter and George Lawler, with the latter handed a rest after a prolonged run in the team.
