Fit-again Luke Robinson expects tomorrow’s home clash against high-flying Castleford Tigers to bring the best out of the Huddersfield Giants.

Huddersfield’s vice-captain returns to action this weekend after missing the Easter weekend Super League wins over Salford and Wakefield with a back problem.

But in-form half-back Robinson is now back to full fitness and confident of playing a leading role as the Giants look to secure victory over the second-placed Tigers (3.00) and continue their climb from seventh up the top-flight table.

“This season we’ve reserved our best performances for the top teams,” said the 29-year-old, who admits the Easter break has enabled him to make a full recovery from his injury niggles.

“And at the moment Castleford are clearly one of the top teams. They’ve won eight of their opening 10 League games and are in the quarter-final of the Challenge Cup.

“We’ve won at champions Wigan, drawn at leaders Leeds and felt we should have beaten St Helens in the Challenge Cup (when Danny Brough’s late potential matchwinning drop goal was controversially ruled out), so we know we have more than enough ability to beat Cas.

“It’s one of those occasions where we know we’re going to have to rise to the occasion, and that seems to bring the best out of us.

“We’re feeling in confident after winning both our Easter fixtures. They may have been ugly wins, but they were still wins.

“And after a weekend break, I think everyone is feeling refreshed and ready to step things up.

“We feel this could be the time to start to make our move.”
