HUDDERSFIELD Giants will be hoping to make home advantage count when they host Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in a re-arranged Under 19s Academy clash at Laund Hill tonight (7.30).

The match should have been staged at Wakefield on Saturday.

But with the recent wintry weather having left the Rapid Solicitors Stadium pitch extremely soft, the Wildcats didn’t want to risk playing a game on the surface ahead of Sunday’s Wakefield-Huddersfield Super League XVIII clash.

And the Giants will be aiming to make the most of tonight’s fixture taking place at their more familiar Huddersfield YMCA base as they look to build on their victory over London Broncos the last time out.

Wigan are hoping a pep talk from former Manchester United and England defender Gary Neville will help them get back to winning ways.

Neville was invited by the club’s rugby general manager and former Great Britain full-back Kris Radlinski to address the players and coaching staff at a break in training ahead of Sunday’s home game against London Broncos.

Warriors head coach Shaun Wane, whose side suffered their first defeat of the season at Huddersfield on Saturday, said: “He was fantastic and we really enjoyed having him in.

“The players got a lot out of it. He explained to us the culture at Manchester United of Alex Ferguson and all the boys said afterwards it is a similar model we try to follow here. It was a real lift for the club.”
