The Huddersfield Giants can’t wait to get back onto the lush turf of the John Smith’s Stadium!

Sunday’s impressive 38-6 pre-season stroll at Hull KR was just the second time in 2016 that Huddersfield had been able to run around on grass.

That was because of the wet conditions over the festive period which left many pitches flooded.

But having been able to train outdoors this week, head coach Paul Anderson is looking for this to be reflected in a slicker all-round display at home to Catalans Dragons on Saturday.

“To say our run-out at Hull KR was just the second time since Christmas we’ve been on grass, it wasn’t too bad,” said Anderson.

“We’re really lucky that we can use the Leeds Road Sportsbarn to do our skills stuff.

“But there’s nothing to beat getting out there on the field and putting everything to the test.

“So we’re obviously looking forward to playing at the stadium this weekend.”
