Huddersfield Giants' Michael Lawrence is hoping to crown a magnificent week by helping the club secure a stunning Super League XVIII success at Bradford Bulls tomorrow (5.45).

Lawrence, David Fauimu, Ukuma Ta’ai and Kyle Wood are the only players who featured in Sunday’s 40-0 home thrashing of Wakefield and aren’t being ‘rested’ this weekend.

And even though the likes of Luke George, Jamie Cording, Jacob Fairbank and Anthony Mullally are also playing, the young and inexperienced Giants on show are expected to find the going tough.

But at the age of just 22, back rower Lawrence is looking forward to being one of the side’s ‘elder statesmen’ and is relishing the chance to play at Bradford and end a week of celebration in style.

“It was a great feeling on Sunday after the Wakefield match,” said Lawrence, who is  feeling fresh at this stage of the season after an injury-hit start to the 2013 campaign.

“Lifting the League Leaders Shield was a very proud moment for myself because I’m obviously from the town.

“I know a lot of people who have wanted this for such a long time and to finally be able to deliver it to them was very special.

“But that’s behind us already, and it wasn’t long at all before we were back focusing 100% on the rest of the season.

“As soon as we got back to training we were thinking about was the Bradford game and preparing to go out there and do a good job.

“Bradford are a tough team at home and it’ll be their last game of the season, so they’ll be wanting to finish the year well.

“But even though so many players are missing, we’re still going to win. That would be the perfect end to an amazing week.”
