HUDDERSFIELD Giants’ new signings will make their home claret and gold bows on Sunday, January 20.

Stuart Fielden, Ukuma Ta’ai, Craig Kopczak, Anthony Mullally and Ben Blackmore will all line up against Super League rivals Widnes Vikings in the club’s only pre-season clash at the John Smith’s Stadium.

The Giants hope to confirm at least one more trial match against a fellow top-flight club in the next few days, although it will be on away territory.

The games will be key to Huddersfield’s preparations for the start of the 2013 campaign and an opening Super League XVIII fixture at Langtree Park against Nathan Brown’s St Helens on Saturday, February 2.

And when the Giants line up against the Vikings, head coach Paul Anderson is hoping to have a full-strength squad at his disposal.

“We’ve got players who had surgery coming out of rehab and joining the full squad all the time now,” said the Huddersfield chief.

“That’s obviously a great position to find ourselves in, and it would be fantastic to have everyone available well before the start of the season.

“For the start of week two of pre-season training we had 20 people available and that’s something we’ve not had for a while.

“That’s meant (rehab man) Matt Green and (new physio) Dave Sullivan and the rest of the medical staff have been getting quality rather than quantity work into our injured players.”

The Giants have now confirmed prop Keith Mason has left the club, with Wakefield and Castleford thought to be leading the chase for his signature.
