Huddersfield Giants duo Leroy Cudjoe and Brett Ferres are in line to play in England’s World Cup opener against Australia at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium tomorrow.

The Super League Dream Team pairing have been named in coach Steve McNamara’s 19-man squad to face the Kangaroos.

Although Ferres was added to England’s 24-man pool only on Tuesday night to replace axed fellow second-row forward Gareth Hock, the back-rower’s chances of featuring have also been improved with the continued absence of loose-forward Sean O’Loughlin (Achilles).

At the same time, Cudjoe now looks odds-on to start after fellow centre Zak Hardaker failed to force his way into contention, despite impressing alongside Ferres for England Knights in their impressive 52-16 victory over World Cup side Samoa at Salford.

Minor 2013 Super League champions Huddersfield are also expected to have two players in action for Wales against Italy in tomorrow’s double-header at the Millennium with national captain Craig Kopczak and Larne Patrick in the 19.
