Huddersfield Giants coach Paul Anderson has accepted full responsibility for his side’s attacking failings in 2015 – and knows it’s up to him to fix it up.

Although Huddersfield boast the best defence in Super League XX – they’ve conceded 156 points in the opening 10 rounds, with second-placed St Helens the next best on 159 and leaders Leeds Rhinos well behind on 178 – their attack has failed to fire.

That’s resulted in just four victories so far this year for the ninth-placed Giants.

Anderson has admitted his squad has been working over-time to put that right ahead of Sunday’s home clash against Catalans, and is confident the plans he’s put in place will reap healthy rewards.

“We know we’re not a bad side,” said Anderson, whose side is looking to avoid a fourth successive defeat this weekend.

“Defensively, we’re the best in Super League, but we’ve obviously had major issues with our offence all year.

“As head coach I have to take responsibility for that, as that’s my role at the club, and it’s also my job to fix it.

“I know I have the group of players capable of doing just that, and that when everything does fall into place we’ll once again prove to be a very, very hard team to beat.”
