Craig Kopczak is confident Widnes will feel a Giants backlash on Friday night.

Huddersfield head to the Vikings still smarting from Sunday’s 24-24 home Super League draw with Hull KR.

The Giants led 24-6 at the break and conceded two tries in the final three minutes to prevent them from making it two wins out of two in 2014.

And 27-year-old prop Kopczak knows his side will be pulling out all the stops to avoid a repeat later in the week.

“The key is to put the Hull KR game behind us and make sure we come back stronger,” said Kopczak.

“Our video session wasn’t pretty and the coaching staff had one or two things to say to us about the way we played.

“But that’s made us even more determined to make sure there’s no repeat at Widnes on Friday.

“We’re already chomping at the bit to get back out there, and there’s no reason why we can’t put things right straight away.”

Kopczak has started the Giants’ opening two games from the bench, and he’s happy to continue in that role, especially if his side starts to get on a roll.

“This is a new role for me and I’m enjoying it,” he added.

“I’m still getting the same amount of game-time as a starting prop, so I’m happy enough with everything.

“But it’s a classic case of doing whatever I can if it’s to the overall benefit of the team.”

It’s an 8pm kick-off for Paul Anderson’s side on Friday (when it is not a Sky TV game).
