Big Eorl Crabtree hopes the fans turn out in force tomorrow – so they can see how much the Giants have improved.

Huddersfield are determined to build on their stunning opening-night triumph at champions Wigan 15 days ago with a second win over Hull KR at the John Smith’s Stadium (3.00).

The manner of the Giants’ 24-8 triumph over the Warriors suggests they could pose a bigger threat in 2014 than they did last season, when they secured a first top-of-the-table finish in 81 years.

And popular prop Crabtree hopes they can prove that in front of a bumper crowd.

“We always enjoy playing at the stadium and in front of our own fans,” said Crabtree.

“And it’s always a bit more special when it’s the first home game of the season when expectations are so high.

“Our win over Wigan is a sign that we’re going to be even stronger this season than we were last year.

“As a group, we do feel we’ve improved and we’ve taken our game to the next level, and we hope to prove that in front of a big John Smith’s crowd tomorrow.

We know Hull KR are going to test us, because they’re a big, physical side who like to try and hurt you.

“But that’s the sort of challenge we now relish. If they want to mix it with us, we’ll be ready for them and we’ll enjoy it.

“These are exciting times for Huddersfield Giants, and we know that excitement will rise with another strong performance tomorrow.”
