In-form Jermaine McGillvary is ready to lead a Giants victory charge in the biggest game of his career.

A win over Wigan in tonight’s play-off semi-final clash at the DW Stadium would secure Huddersfield a first Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.

McGillvary admits the victory and the prize of a trip to the Theatre of Dreams next Saturday (October 10) would be a dream come true.

It would also add to the blockbusting winger’s pride at sweeping the boards at the Giants Player of the Year awards night and his Super League Dream Team selection earlier this week.

And he’s convinced more glory can be achieved before the curtain falls on the Giants’ 2015 campaign.

“We’re going to Wigan tonight expecting to win, it’s as simple as that,” said McGillvary, who played a key part in the Giants’ 2013 Super League Leaders Shield success.

“This will be the biggest game of my career so far, and I know that’s the case for a lot of the other boys here as well.

“Wigan away is always a special fixture, but it doesn’t get much bigger than when the prize on offer is a place in the Super League Grand Final, which is something the Giants have never done before.

“So we know we’ve got the chance to make history tonight, and that’s a prospect that excites us.

“We’ve got over the disappointment of losing at home to Leeds last week (20-16 after conceding a last-second Ryan Hall try), and that’s because we appreciate it’s this game that matters so much ore than that one the other night.

“This game at Wigan is the one that’ll define our season – not the narrow loss to Leeds – and we know we’re good enough to win it.

“We’ve worked harder than ever before to get to this position, and we don’t want to blow it now.

“It’s going to be tough, but there’s no reason why we shouldn’t get to Old Trafford.

“Picking up the individual accolades has been special, but it’ll be nothing compared to getting a win at Wigan tonight.”
