Eorl Crabtree believes anyone who thinks the Huddersfield Giants just need to turn up today to beat London Broncos is being disrespectful to their hosts.

Huddersfield head to the Hive (3.00) as red-hot favourites to inflict a 12th successive Super League defeat on the capital club, who are rock bottom of the table and look certain to be relegated at the end of the season.

But even though it would be a massive shock if the Giants didn’t secure a sixth victory of the campaign to strengthen their top-six spot, Crabtree is dismissing any thoughts of the easiest of rides this weekend.

“I’ve never played at London and found it easy, even when they’ve been struggling in the past,” said Crabtree.

“So I don’t expect it to be any different today.

“To be honest, I think it would be totally disrespectful to all the players at the Broncos if anyone thinks it’s just a case of us turning up to guarantee a win. It’s not like that at all.

“I’ve never played in a game of rugby league that’s easy, it just doesn’t happen, and even though London are struggling they do possess players with an incredible amount of ability.

“When Wigan and Warrington played down there earlier in the season, they were both losing at half-time and had to dig deep to avoid defeat. That’s a warning for all of us.

“We’ve prepared this week as if we’re playing a team at the top of the table, not a team that’s rock bottom.

“Over the past few weeks we’ve worked incredibly hard to get three wins on the trot (against Salford, Wakefield and Castleford) and if we went and lost at the Broncos, it would feel as if so much of that hard work had gone to waste.

“Having clawed our way back into the top six, we’re determined to continue looking up rather than down, and a victory today would help us do just that.”
